Job Description
SUMMARY: Our client is a small startup operation in its second year, but is part of a much larger organization. The plant builds and rebuilds plastics processing equipment, downstream equipment, auxiliary equipment for plastics manufacturing. Examples would be molding machines, grinders, extruders, cooling tanks, etc. They are looking for a plant manager who has a background in building and/or rebuilding capital equipment, ideally in the plastics market. Being a part of a bigger company, they have very strong benefits.
LOCATION: Eldorado Hills is on the edge of the Eldorado National Forest. Here, you are a couple hours from the coast, just over the hills from Lake Tahoe, and the opportunities for outdoor recreation are endless. Hiking, skiing, fishing, hunting (best in CA), biking. What a great place to live.
TOTAL COMPENSATION: 130-183K plus relocation assistance and benefits. There isn’t currently a bonus plan, but as the plant grows, a bonus plan will become available.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all aspects of this operation. You will be a jack of all trades with involvement in all areas of the operation.
- Budgeting for your plant’s financials and running the plant “to the budget”.
- The Plant Manager ensures that all supervisors are appropriately trained and that the supervisors appropriately train line workers.
- Manage the housekeeping such that the plant is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Sponsor, manage & participate in improvement initiatives.
- Ensure safety is paramount in importance and establish safety committee.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- The Plant Manager must have a minimum of 5 years of management experience in the building or rebuilding of capital equipment that use pumps, drives, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC’s, HMI’s, sensors, etc., with a strong preference for plastics equipment.
- The Plant Manager must have excellent people skills, a "leader's" personality, and the ability to have a team rally behind them to meet the output and growth goals of the company. We are looking for TEAM BASED leaders, not “top down” dictators.
- The Plant Manager must have a “take-charge” personality who can efficiently and effectively identify and solve problems and manage this operation as if it were their own business.
- Must have very strong technical skills and a deep understanding of machinery and how it works.
- Strong knowledge of LOTO and other safety requirements, and a strong belief in enforcing safety procedures as paramount in importance in the plant.
